History
Akado Vocational Training Centre originated as a village polytechnic, dedicated to equipping local youth with fundamental artisan craft skills. Through significant investment from the County Government of Kisumu, the institution evolved into an innovation hub. In July 2025, the upgraded Akado Centre for Vocational Expertise in Automotive Engineering was officially commissioned, establishing it as a key centre for county fleet repairs and advanced mechanical apprentice training. By the end of 2025, the centre initiated extensive community outreach programmes, providing complimentary automotive servicing and beauty treatments performed by its senior trainees to showcase its impact on the local market.
